FIRST Robotics Teams Put Our Linear Motion Kits to Work

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), founded in 1989, has been a driving force in inspiring young minds to embrace science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). With programs spanning multiple age groups and interests, FIRST Robotics introduces students to real-world challenges and innovative problem-solving.

Since 2007, Bishop-Wisecarver® has proudly partnered with FIRST as a sponsor on both national and regional levels. Over the years, we’ve provided essential components like our MadeWell® radial wheels and DualVee® wheels and tracks. These parts allow teams to incorporate vee groove wheel bearings and 90-degree vee tracks into their robots, enabling high load-capacity linear guides—critical for many competition applications.

This year, we donated Linear Motion Guide Kits, featuring everything needed to build linear or telescopic slides, with 18-inch double-edge tracks, our original Vee guide wheels, spacers, mounting hardware, and more. To make it as easy as possible for teams to get started, we provided written instructions, CAD models, and a step-by-step video tutorial showing how to assemble and integrate the kits into their designs. These kits became available to teams through the AndyMark FIRST Choice platform, and we were amazed to see how quickly they were claimed! It’s exciting to know that these parts are now in the hands of some of the brightest young problem-solvers out there.

Our support doesn’t stop there. As a Gold Sponsor for the 2025 season, we’re deeply invested in the success of FIRST Robotics participants across the country. Beyond the national level, we’re also proud to sponsor local teams in our community, helping them with tools, mentorship, and encouragement to thrive in their robotics journey.

Initiatives like these matter to us because we believe in the transformative power of hands-on learning. Programs like FIRST bridge the gap between classroom concepts and real-world applications, helping students not only build robots but also confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. To all the teams participating this season, we’re excited to see what you’ll build!
