At Bishop-Wisecarver, we LOVE celebrating MFGDay! Our team looks forward to it each year and spends months planning new ways to showcase what we do as a motion solutions provider, as well as the opportunities of a manufacturing career. This year was one of our largest events to date. So large in fact, that we ended up hosting two days of events at our facility to accommodate everyone interested and ensure they received a personalized, meaningful experience.

That was our welcoming statement to booth visitors at the recent PACK EXPO event in Las Vegas, where more than 30K attendees converged to find the latest technologies and solutions to all their packaging challenges. And once we knew their particular issue, we could follow up with multiple solutions as Bishop-Wisecarver has been in business nearly 70 years and has worked with the packaging industry since that first decade.
With multiple patents showing our experience, and several engineers on hand that love to solve problems, the discussions in the booth were interesting for both our team and the customers.
One of the core values at Bishop-Wisecarver is the “Need for Speed and Think Smartly” in all activities. Key word – ALL. This past summer, two Bishop-Wisecarver employees were on stages at large vendor events discussing ways they had helped the company think smartly on various internal business processes. While customers may not see these efforts directly, they appreciate the results as these propel the company’s Signature Experience of unmatched quality, reliability and service.
One of the reasons Bishop-Wisecarver has remained successful for nearly 70 years is the company’s focus on four core values. These values guide everything from the design and manufacturing of products to the Signature Experience provided to customers and the positive work environment for employees. “Embrace the pioneering spirit”, one of the core values, encourages creativity, unconventional thinking and continuous education for all employees.
The proof is in the pudding. It’s an old phrase, and one where the actual words are debated, but the intended meaning has remained according to Merriam-Webster “that the real worth, success, or effectiveness of something can only be determined by putting it to the test by trying or using it, appearances and promises aside.”

This quote is heard in the NAM State of Manufacturing Tour 2019 video highlighting their Creators Wanted campaign and on-site discussions and visits earlier this year with manufacturers, teachers, students, government officials and business leaders from eight states. Bishop-Wisecarver was one of the sites for this year’s visit to California and Pamela Kan, Bishop-Wisecarver President, hosted a roundtable discussion.
Applications in harsh and contaminated environments often exhibit low durability or premature failure which require frequent service or replacement. Either option means additional time and money spent, and often, a loss of revenue for machinery down time during the process. It causes multiple challenges for busy companies, which is why Bishop-Wisecarver has focused on manufacturing linear motion products that can withstand these extreme environments.
Food processing manufacturers have an increasing number of challenges, whether they are processing vegetables and fruit, filling pastries and baked goods, or cutting meat. This includes keeping up with sanitation, safety and maintenance requirements while maintaining throughput and production quality.
