Sara Morales, Quality Supervisor at Bishop-Wisecarver, has been recognized as one of the California Manufacturers & Technology Association's (CMTA) 2025 Emerging Leaders at this year’s Women MakingCA conference in Sacramento. The honor highlights her dedication to quality, her leadership on the shop floor, and her impact within both our team and the broader manufacturing community.
Held annually during Women’s History Month, the Women MakingCA event celebrates women across California who are shaping the future of the manufacturing industry—from hands-on innovation to policy advocacy. This year’s event took place at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, spotlighting those who lead with integrity, innovation, and commitment.
Sara shared her thoughts on receiving the award:
“I am deeply thankful and truly honored to receive this recognition as part of the Class of 2025's Emerging Leaders. Being selected for this distinction is an incredible privilege, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to CMTA for this amazing event that highlights and celebrates the extraordinary women who are continually making a significant impact on the manufacturing and technology industries.
I am proud to represent Bishop-Wisecarver as part of this prestigious recognition. Also, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Kelly Walden—my manager, Pamela Kan—BW president, and the Marketing team for their thoughtful nomination and continued support. I am fortunate to collaborate with such a talented and inspiring group of individuals.”
Sara’s award comes at a time when more women are stepping into critical roles across the manufacturing sector. Women make up 47% of the U.S. workforce, yet only 30% work in manufacturing. Encouragingly, nearly 75% of women in the field recommend it as a career path, and 1 in 4 manufacturing leaders today are women.
As a proud certified women-owned company, Bishop-Wisecarver is honored to support and celebrate this progress. And we’ve seen it firsthand—our President and Owner, Pamela Kan, was named CMTA’s Manufacturer of the Year in 2023.
Being women-owned isn’t just a certification—it reflects a commitment to inclusion, accountability, and broader perspective in every level of our operations. It means decision-making is shaped by diverse experiences and that leadership opportunities are extended to those with the drive and ability to make an impact. At Bishop-Wisecarver, this mindset influences how we collaborate, innovate, and support our customers.
