HepcoMotion DLS – Driven Linear System

DLS offers belt driven actuation with a wide array of drive options available to meet the most simple to the most complex linear motion needs. Systems can be provided with a simple output shaft and an adapter with coupler to suit the customer’s gearbox or with a worm gearbox with flange to suit customer’s motor. The DLS beam provides T slots for quick and easy mounting of sensors and switches as well as assembly brackets. Profile aluminum framing, such as MCS, can be used to complete machine framing around the DLS unit. Other DLS options include a cantilever axis. The cantilever axis provides an ideal low inertia vertical axis to complete your linear motion needs.

DLS3-4
DLS Belt Driven Linear Actuator

DLS3 & DLS4 are available up to 8 meters in a single beam.

DLS5
DLS5 Belt Driven Linear Actuator

DLS5 is the largest member of the DLS family. Idler end box belt tensioning 50AT10 belt allow for speeds up to 6 meter/second.

Standard Axis and DLS3 Contilever Axis Options

Precision Ground GV3 V slides along with double row V bearings make for a smooth and durable slide. Two carriage plate lengths are available - long and short. Drive and idler end boxes feature brush seals to prevent the ingress of particulate as well as end of stroke bumpers. Carriages feature integral belt tensioning for easy adjustment. Connect shafts, connecting shaft supports, couplers, and switches allow further optimization of the DLS linear system.

Motor Options

AC geared motors are available in frame sizes IEC 56 to 80, with gear ratios from 5:1 to 75:1. Geared motors can be directly coupled to drive end boxes using hollow shafts. Flanges are also available to mount customer specific gearboxes and motors. Shaft-only options allow an output shaft to be mounted on the left or right side of the drive end box as well as a dual output shaft. Precision planetary gearboxes may also be directly mounted to the drive end box for high accuracy applications.

Beam Options

  • DLS3 and DLS4 feature standard beams
  • DLS3 has a lightweight beam option
  • DLS3 also features a cantilever beam option, which allows for a stationary carriage and a moving beam
  • All beams feature T slots and optional T slot covers are available
DLS Bread Manufacturing

BREAD MANUFACTURING

High-Throughput Food Application Demands Extreme Reliability

THE CHALLENGE:

The bakery market is one of the largest markets in the food industry, and not surprisingly, there is a high need for modern technology to meet market demands. To keep up with today’s demand, the food processing industry needs to be efficient; this means most of the tasks need to be automated. But in every automated system, there are a host of smaller components that perform simple yet essential processes. Without these components, the automation could not take place.

DLS Agriculture Asparagus Harvesting

ROBOTIC ASPARAGUS HARVESTER

Multi-Axis Guided Motion for Automation in High Debris Farming Environment

THE CHALLENGE:

Up to this point, asparagus harvesting has largely been an arduous and expensive manual process. The stalks grow at various speeds, so it has been the job of workers to painstakingly cut through each ripe stalk individually. This laborious process makes asparagus one of the most expensive vegetables to produce. With demand on the rise, it has become more important than ever to explore automation solutions to make harvesting sustainable.
