EMPLOYEE SUCCESS STORIES

Kelly Walden – Hired 1998

I grew up locally and my father worked for several Bay Area manufacturer’s, so I was exposed to the industry from an early age. While attending college with occasional interning / visits to other companies. I remember on one such visit to White Industries, a North Bay manufacturer of bicycle components, I saw my first multi-spindle CNC turning center and thought this was the coolest thing.

I started my career with BW in the Quality Department as an Inspector and I’ve been very fortunate to work with and learn from several talented people during my career at BW including our President, Pamela Kan, and her father and company founder, Bud Wisecarver. I’ve been regularly challenged throughout my career and believe this has contributed much to my growth to my current role as VP of Manufacturing.

I feel connected to the company and to the Wisecarver family. I know with absolute certainty that as an organization, we have yet to realize our full potential and I’m motivated by this daily. While continuing to grow in my own role, I enjoy the opportunity to mentor others and help them develop as others helped me. I’m working in a field that is technologically evolving faster than any other time in history making it equal parts scary and exciting. Our younger cadre of employees are doing wonderful work and infusing new energy into BW.

Micaela Moran – Hired 2023

I joined Bishop-Wisecarver in 2023 as the Marketing Intern, and I was immediately welcomed by teammates who genuinely cared, and encouraged me to bring my ideas to life. That sense of connection and support, an authentic family-culture vibe, was clear from day one.

Just a month into my internship, I was offered a full-time position as a Marketing Associate. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to dive into content creation, social media strategy, and projects that challenge me to think creatively and strategically every day. I’m proud to be part of a company that values every voice, encourages growth, and continues to move forward through collaboration and innovation.

Vince Mello – Hired 2006

I was working in various construction companies prior to beginning my career with BW in 2006. My first position with BW was Production Worker 4th Class. I my former years, I learned to cut, drill, straighten, and emboss Dual-Vee track. With the support of BW throughout my career, I had the fortunate opportunity to learn various operations on the production floor to improve my skills and knowledge and attend continuing education courses in machine shop technologies. With hard work and dedication, BW led me down the path to numerous promotions.

After spending the past several years honing my business acumen through leadership training, OSHA compliance, and Lean Six Sigma I was promoted recently to my current role as Plant Superintendent and am learning even more every day.

I really love my job. I like all the people I get to work with and think manufacturing is very interesting. BW challenges me every day to come up with creative solutions to a very broad range of problems. This job has affected my way of thinking and who I am as a person in a positive way. BW is the right size to be able to learn and grow with the right attitude and work ethic. There are a lot of very smart and talented people I have been lucky to work with. My manager has been a great mentor and has had the greatest impact on my BW experience.

Reanna Oliver – Hired 2022

When I first joined Bishop-Wisecarver in 2022, I was welcomed into the Shipping and Receiving team with open arms. Coming from years of experience in customer service, the moving industry, and automotive dealerships, I was excited to bring my skills into a new environment that valued teamwork and precision.

Through dedication and support from my colleagues, I quickly advanced to the role of Shipping Lead. Every day brought new challenges and opportunities to learn more about our products, customers, and the people who make this company thrive.

In 2024, life took me in a new direction when I moved away from the Bay Area to the mountains, which meant saying goodbye to Bishop-Wisecarver—a decision that was bittersweet. I missed the sense of belonging and the family-oriented culture that had made my time there so special.

Then, in early 2025, I received a call that changed everything: an invitation to return as a Customer Service Representative. It felt like coming home. I was truly grateful for the opportunity to rejoin such a supportive and caring team—one that not only recognizes hard work but also values people as individuals.

Working at Bishop-Wisecarver has shown me what it means to be part of a company that genuinely cares—for its employees, its customers, and its community. I’m proud to continue growing here and contributing to the company’s mission of delivering excellence through innovation and teamwork.

Reggie Castro – Hired 2021

I have spent more than ten years working in IT operations, systems management, and process improvement, focusing on building technology solutions that help people work smarter and more efficiently. Before joining Bishop Wisecarver, I worked in public sector technology roles, the banking industry, and the event industry, where I supported critical infrastructure, strengthened data security, and helped teams deliver reliable, customer-focused service.

At Bishop-Wisecarver, I lead our technology department to ensure that our tools, systems, and processes empower every employee to do their best work. I also help guide the responsible use of AI technologies to improve efficiency, support decision making, and enhance collaboration across the company. What I appreciate most about working here is the culture. It is collaborative, forward thinking, and focused on continuous improvement. Everyone has a voice, and new ideas are always encouraged.
