Quality Inspector
PURPOSE: The purpose of the Quality Control Inspector is to maintain or improve the quality of raw materials, in process parts and assemblies, incoming parts and finished products by performing inspections to ensure company standards are met.
Job Duties:
- Reading and interpreting prints
- Examining manufacture parts, materials and assemblies
- Performing inspections of purchased parts, materials and components to ensure quality acceptance
- Monitoring drilling machine on in house production
- Testing parts for hardness
- Compiles and analyzes statistical process control data
- Inspects returned parts
- Provides information, feedback and services to other departments
- Assist QC and Engineering in researching, developing and testing prototypes
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year certificate from college or technical school
- 2 years experience on the job; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Quality Control Supervisor
Incorporated in 1950, Bishop-Wisecarver Corporation is a second generation family owned manufacturing company specializing in guided motion technologies.
PURPOSE:
We are currently seeking a Quality Control (QC) Supervisor. The successful candidate for this position will be a hands on working supervisor. This position supervises two inspectors, and conducts inspections of raw materials, materials in process, and finished materials. The QC Supervisor is responsible for all activities involving quality assurance, quality control, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will conduct audits and review/analyze data and documentation.
Specific Responsibilities:
The QC Supervisor is responsible for assuring that raw material and manufactured or procured mechanical parts and assemblies meet company and industry quality requirements. Activities may include any, or all, of the following:

Receiving inspection, in process inspection, and final assembly inspection

Logging and documenting inspection findings, generating non conformance reports and corrective action reports and driving closure of those reports, writing engineering change requests

Design of fixtures and gauges utilizing standard geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles
-
Preparing material samples for analysis, and performing material analysis
-
Analyzing material dimensional characteristics and writing analysis reports
-
CMM based inspection and CMM programming (Integrated Quality preferred)
-
Assist in the design and implementation of policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment

Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

Acts as an advisor to quality assurance team regarding projects, tasks, and operations

Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the QC discipline
Requirements:
Education: BS degree or AA degree and/or five years of industry experience.
Experience: Requires a minimum of five years experience in a mechanical quality assurance or quality control position or equivalent applicable experience. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Required Skills:

Computer proficiency with standard Microsoft office applications

Experience using all mechanical inspection tools and techniques including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, surface plates, and pin and plug gauges

Ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings

Proficiency with optical comparator use

Ability to use and program coordinate measurement machines

In depth knowledge of, and capability to apply, statistical principles to daily work, including SPC
-
CAD proficiency, preferably ProE

Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5-1994)

Applications Engineer I
PURPOSE: The purpose of the Applications/Sales Engineer is to maximize company revenues by selling products that meet customer needs.
Essential Duties:
- Identifies customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients, sales representatives, OEMs and distributors
- Responds to sales questions in a credible and responsive manner
- Assumes the primary technical relationship with the customer
- Supports distributors, sales representatives and sales department in implementing target market programs and closing new business
- Provides input to product feature enhancements and process improvements
- Coordinates administrative actions
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- BS Mechanical Engineering and one to three years design and/or related experience
- CAD experience (Pro E preferred)
- Basic knowledge of mechanical components
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good communication skills and great customer service skills
